Community Services Fun Day 2023

Community Services Fun Day 2023

The Brief

South Dublin County Council (SDCC), An Garda Siochána together with The Square, Tallaght were holding a Community Services Fun Day in Tallaght on the 22nd July 2023.

Requirements were for an Event Management business to coordinate with South Dublin County Council, An Garda Siochána and management of The Square, Tallaght. The role consisted of project managing the event and provide all the required infrastructure and the coordination of community service providers.

This event was to celebrate and highlight the essential services provided within our County and to invite members of the public to get to know the services and what services are available to them, while enjoying a great afternoon of family fun.

The Approach

Fusion Events has worked with The Square on several large community projects over the past five years and were very familiar with the site in which the community services event was to be held.

The focus of the event was to bring awareness to the community of the services available to them on a daily basis, whilst bringing a fun element for families and their children. Whilst working closely with SDCC and their direct connection with the large range of community services, Fusion Events designed and implemented a project plan that would bring over 30 services safely to the event space for a projected footfall of over 3000 people.

Services such as the Dublin Fire Brigade, National Ambulance Services, The Defence Forces, Tallaght Hospital, CHI, Blood Bikes East, Water Safety Ireland, South Dublin County Partnership, Dublin Airport Fire Brigade, Dublin Bus, Luas, Go Ahead and many more will be taking part on the day, with lots of family fun including DJ, bouncy castle, face painting, games zone and more.

Prior to the event and working with An Garda Siochana and The Square operations teams, Fusion Events managed a timed traffic plan to direct the various service vehicle safely to the site. A scaled site plan including Risk assessments, mission statements and coordination of over 30 outdoor display stands, with a Fun Family area. The full site was required to be complete in time before the main shopping centre opened and the event start time of 11.00am, which was constructed by a team over 20 Fusion Events staff on the morning of the event.
