DkIT Graduation Ceremony 2020 & 2021
The Brief
Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) each year confers the awards from across its 4 Academic Schools of Business & Humanities; Engineering; Health & Science; and Informatics & Creative Arts.
The aim this is to deliver an on-campus event with additional multi-media support (i.e. screens to broadcast ceremonies in the venue plus recording of ceremonies for playback on our website).
Since 2020, for the third consecutive year, Fusion Events successfully tendered for the event production of Dundalk Institute of Technology Graduation Ceremonies. The Client’s priority was to host an engaging and congratulatory occasion but also a very safe one for all 1,300 graduates and their guests. In addition to the undergraduate degrees, over 100 postgraduate qualifications were conferred, including a number of PhDs.
The Approach
Building on the success of previous years, Fusion Events managed all aspects of event operations to ensure smooth production of thirteen graduation sessions over three days. Fusion Events used a project management approach throughout the event life ensuring that all event elements were fully planned for, contingency plans were in place, event communications implemented and rehearsals undertaken in a safe and timely fashion. At all times faculty members were liaised with to ensure that campus requirements were managed.
With a broad and tech savvy audience, online access had to be secure, quick and easy. Online security is always a key consideration and Fusion Events utilised a dedicated password protected streaming service for over three hundred attendees to login with encrypted access. A full outside broadcast technical specification – live stream to white label – and crew managed the live broadcast on site and the event was live streamed with real time event stats. A full onsite audio visual crew managed the technical requirements for presenters and in person attendees.
Fusion Events managed the creative production for all content including presentations, event programme and print material. Fusion Events undertook full room décor, dress, stage design and seating to accommodate in-person attendees. An event safety team managed the safe movement of people and the smooth running of the event and in compliance with Covid regulations for years 2020 and 2021.
The Result
Significant positive feedback received from graduates, attendees and other Institute stakeholders reinforced the Client’s satisfaction with the event production and they have expressed a keen interest to work with Fusion Events in the future.
